Regarding the very bad foot pain in arches and heels when waking up! Been there done that yes it is extremely painful Plantars Fascaitis. In my younger days I always had bad heel pain but noticed after all the spine surgeries and well into my late 40's I started having extreme foot pain so painful even to try to massage they were so tender and hurt bad right in the arch and all around the heels. When to the Podiatrist who examined me and said it was bad Plantars Fasciatis and that I'm very Flat footed which I never really knew. They gave me a series of injections they are painful also but yes they use somekind of very cold spray on the area they will give the injection to help subdue the pain. Then they wrapped my foot with some special padding and recommended me getting something at the drug store inserts for my shoes. Man after the Dr. gave me those shots and wrapped my feet with those soft padds it felt so good but was only temp. relief. Still worth it too me. I've had to repeat these injections every few months when the pain get's really bad but they do help.
