I'm sorry that you're in such pain. The first thing I would do is look for a doctor who specializes in pain (usually called a physiatrist) who uses a variety of methods to treat your pain. These doctors often work in a clinic with other practitioners who specialize in different areas of pain relief.
The days of pop a pain pill and go home are long gone. Many other therapies from different kinds of drugs to implants to mindfulness techniques exist. There is also a great deal of pain research going on now. You can look for clinical trials at clinicaltrials.gov.
