I lived in Tucson AZ where we had a Medical University and got excellent care and pain management. I moved back to Chico CA where medical care and expertise is limited. Many patients here go to Davis CA or Palo Alto CA both have excellent Medical Universities. The advantage is they are more aware of current remedies, access to teachers who are more experienced and access to their collegues who may have a different perspective or solution. Also universities have bigger budgets and less constraints and a whole differnt way of looking at an issue. Here I found doctors actually running down the halls trying to cover the number of patients they were required to see. I didn't have that in Tucson and my friends who went to Davis said doctors actually took time to sit and talk with them without being rushed. You might ask the doctor what he would do if he were in your shoes.
