If you suffer from neuropathic pain in your lower back and legs, how have you been treated?

I have chronic pain in both of my legs and lower back. It is definitely due to two discectomies at L4-5, and possibly due to one botched surgery and a long term exposure to solvents that caused nerve damage. Among other diagnoses, I have been told it is "failed back surgery syndrome"...
