I have been experiencing very bad pain in the bottom of my big toe. What could this be?
From bursitis to gout to arthritis to bunions there are a number of conditions that can cause this. You'll have to see your primary care physician or your podiatrist to resolve what this is.
In gout, the toe is usually swollen. Bunions usually have a bony growth on the outside of the foot. You could have injured your toe without realizing it and it just needs to heal. If it doesn't resolve in a couple of weeks be sure to see a physician.
