What are my options if I can't tolerate the battery in my hip for Spinal Stimulator Anymore???

Broken Pelvis. Misdiagnosis.  2002, spinal cord stim implant.  It helps. It's not perfect, but, every little bit helps!  Problem is, the battery, placed in my right hip, is really seeming to be causing me more pain than it is relieving!  Is it possible, that after such a long time, my body is "rejecting" the battery? It feels as if it is damaging my hip.  I dream about tearing it out. I want the electrical current.  Some days, it is my only saving grace! But, I don't think I can live with this huge foreign object in my body any more. Also,I'm afraid the doctors will think I am "wishy-washy" (indecisive, whatever) if I insist they remove the battery, and abandon me altogether . It's not that I am not grateful for the relief provided to me. I do appreciate the fact that I HAVE this stimulator!  But, I'm ready to remove THE BATTERY myself because it is causing me pain, in addition to the constant CRPS/causalgia/neuropathic/muscularskelatar pain I ALREADY have to endure every day.  Please advise me, what should I do?
