I am so sorry for the pain you have been through.  I am 6 yrs out of a full fusion in my lower back. L5s1 AND L4&5. I was pain free at bout 5wks  out but by week 6 I felt great. My mother and I had a full day to ourselves, we had not done that for two years, that's how long I laid on my sofa before I had the surgery. Divine intervention at work. The following day, I found my mother in her apartment, she had passed away from an acute heart attache.  any way my pain was good for about 6 months. At that point one of the two surgeons said I was as healed as I was going to get. and that i had only healed at about 85%. Therefore, I live in pain just like you do... I am always looking for new ways to TRY to find something that will allow me to get out of my bed. I would take a wheel chair now just so I could go with my children on field trips or when  my husband takes the kids to a fair, or swap meet......right now I can't go because I can't walk more then about 100ft before my back will start to spasm and then the pain goes down my legs.  I KNOW your PAIN. If you would like to chat just email me. I hope you have a good night, tonight.  slatts
