TRICE............ I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE LIDOCAINE INFUSIONS BUT I HAD A FRIEND ON THE PATCHES AND THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING FOR HER AND SHE ONLY HAD LIGHT TO MODERATE PAIN AND NOT CHRONIC.. THE INFUSION MIGHT BE DIFFERENT. WHEN I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE EFFECTIVNESS OF A MEDICATION I ALWAYS CALL MY PHARMACIST AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS HAPPILY HELPED ME. I WAS RECENTLTY ON 800 MG OF MORPHINE AND 40 MG OF OXYCODONE AND I GOT OFF OF THE MORPHINE AND CALLED THE PHARMACIST AND ASKED HIM WHAT WOULD BE ABOUT THE SAME THING BUT NOT AS BAD AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE LIKE COMPARING APPLES AND ORANGES BUT IT WOULD BE EQILVILENT TO ABOUT 80MG OF OXYCODONE X'S 3 A DAY AND THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE BETTER THAN 800 MG OF MORPHIEN AND I ALSO AGREE SO I SEE A NEW DOCTOR TOMMOROW AND I HOPE HE WILL GIVE ME SOMETHING FOR PAIN RELIEF... IM AT THE END OF MY ROPE WITH ALL OF IT. BUT GOOD LUCK ON THE LIDICAINE AND TAKE CARE AND HOPE U GET SOME RELIEF...................KIMBER Reply

Thanks Kimber...the patches aren't the same as the infusion but I appreciate you responding anyway. i also hope that it gives me some relief. My doctor did just give me a fentanyl patch along with the percocet I take for pain, so maybe this infusion will give me the long term pain relief I need so i won't need to use these other drugs as much (along with all of the other medications I take on a daily basis htese days...I'm like a walking pharmacy). Hopefully you're new doctor will be able to get you on the right track as well, I hear you when you say you're at the end of your rope. I've been having a really bad few months and hoping things will turn around soon....I just keep saying it can't get any worse but some days it does...Anyway Good Luck to you as well...Trice

Hi to all,

I suffer from various chronic pain between fibro ,rheumatoid and other ailments. I started lido infusions a few years ago. I had been suffering for several years and still its a battle. Before lidocaine i was on so many meds , Like you i felt like a walking pharmacy taking upwards to 8 to 12 meds a of different pills and pain killers a day. I felt more tired and sick from all the meds. A few treatments of the lido and i felt so free, i slowly weaned off the meds and am now down to 3 at night. But unfortunately i am more a severe case and cant never go with out. I know what you mean by " The end of your ropes" Chronic pain of all types severe or not is frustrating and hard to live with. Lido infusions helped me get back to a somewhat normal life and all it took was an afternoon with an IV every couple weeks. Everybody reacts different but it works temporarily for me. There are lots of websites with info on infusons. I hope this helps somewhat and you find comfort and something that works for you.    Blessings
