Hi Paul, Yes it does sound like the pain is coming from your back. I have recently had a herniated disk in my lower back, the buldge was aggraviating my sciatica, which caused pain all down my left leg, as well as numbness in my foot. I were put on oxcycontin for the pain but regret it now as I am trying to get off of them and are going through withdrawals. I have started to go to the pool where it relieves me and I am trying to strenghthen my back. Also go for short walks but I know that is easier said than done. Sometimes a chiropractor can help, but would get an xray to get it checked out.

goodluck
