I have a question about my TMJ

I was wondering if anyone can relate to this sensation that I am feeling with my TMJ. I get the sensation of a tickling in different areas of my scalp and sometimes in my forehead or nose. I was wondering if anyone knew what this may be or if anyone is having this same sensation, it makes me crazy and it makes it hard to think about anything else except for this sensation. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Strange sensations in the head are not so unusual in TMJ. How to deal with them is unclear but I can tell you as someone with CFS/FM who also has experiences with unusual body sensations (but not tickling thank goodness) that what works best for me is stress reduction programs such as meditation, guided imagery, relaxing audio tapes, etc..  I was informed by a doctor who treats FM and CFS that focusing on these sensations reinforces the neural circuit that generates them - and thus magnifies them.  Doing meditative type exercises takes ones attention off these uncomfortable sensations and can calm down the  circuits that produce them.

Good luck!
