Q: post-op pain relief

which is stronger for pain relief post-surgery, vicodin or percocet?

They are roughly equivalent with Vicodin containing more acetaminophen than Percocet which may give it a bit of a boost. Generally the question with these opiates is not whether one is stronger because  you should be able to get a dose of either one that works for you. It is possible, of course, that you might react to one better and thus need less of it.

 

If neither of those work then you could be dealing with neuropathic pain and need a drug designed specifically for that but in  most cases the opiates work just fine.

Personally, I think Percocet is "better" or more effective. But generally people react to Medications differently, So it could help me alot but for you-not so much.

Percocet (oxycodone) is a stronger opiod than Vicodin (hydrocodone).
