Q: do i have tmj

When i move my jaw i hear and feel a pop near my ear does this mean i have tmj its been happenning for a year or so

Jaw popping doesn't necessarily mean you have TMJ, although that could develop later.  Generally jaw popping generally means that the disc in the jaw joint is unstable.  It would be a good idea to see your dentist to see if perhaps a mouth guard might help correct the problem and prevent it from going any further.  Here's a link to a dentist's site that explains more about jaw popping:  http://www.atlantadentist.com/jaw_popping.html
