With a chronic pain, each time I take 750 mg hydrocodone my stomach would hurt before it can target the pain that was intended for. Is there a better substitute for hydrocodone and if there is what is it?

I suspect you mean 7.5 mg because hydrocodone only comes in 5, 7.5 and 10 mg dosages. Make sure you always eat something when you take hydrocodone. If I forget to take food with it, I get terrible stomach pain, but as long as I eat something, I usually do fine. If you have been taking it with food and are still having trouble, then you do need to talk to your doctor about switching to something else. There are a number of other opioid pain medications, but ultimately your doctor will have to make the decision as to which would be best for you. Some he may consider could include tramadol, Demerol or morphine sulfate.
