Hi,

I have had this done several times to my SI Joint, facet joint, into my disc area, SI nerve and into muscles. I have had two fusions and have several back issues, so for me I have to say that it helps me to cope for approximately for four weeks. I am no way pain free, but it does reduce my pain by about 25%.

Yes, I have to be honest with you and say that it is painful. I won't lie to you!

They will do the procedure under an x ray machine and the dr. will inject the areas. Tell the Dr. if it is too painful for you, because he can put the medicine in slower and massage the area that he/she injected. That is the part that really hurt me the most was when he was putting the meds in.

I have this procedure done usually 3-4 times a year.

I hope that I answered your question.

All the best to you.

My Dr. made several attempts to "deaden" nervers in my back to ease the pain I suffered from spinal stenosis. These were very painful procedures and were not effective because the nerves themselves could not be found and injected. After 3 attempts of this procedure, I gave up and still suffer my constant pain dispite the use of percocet. I would hope you find better results. Maybe try at least one time.
