Please compare and contrast Roxicet 5-325 versus Hydroco APAP5 500. Thank you!
Actually, the previous answer is incorrect. Roxicet is 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen. Hydroco APAP 5-500 is 5 mg of hydrocodone and 500 mg of acetaminophen. The purpose of the acetaminophen in both is to boost the pain relieving effects of the opioid. Oxycodone is stronger than hydrocodone, so even though the hydrocodone has a little more acetaminophen, the Roxicet would still be somewhat stronger.
Having said that, everyone responds differently to different medications, so you'll just have to try them to see which works best for you.
They're very close to each other actually. Both contain the same amount of the same narcotic (5 mgs. hydrocodone). The second contains a bit more acetaminophen - which is there to help boost the hydrocodone. So - the second is a bit stronger but not by much. Good luck with your medications.
