I have constant chronic pain, is there anything out there to help me
I have 3 metal plates in my neck due to blown disks...I have 3 more blown disks in my lower back, S1 which is my siatic nerve.I have sharp pains running down my legs, numbness in legs and all toes on each foot are numb. I still have chronic pain from my neck, nerve pain going down both arms, and tingling and numbness in fingers. I have austiopenia, scololiosis...I am losing my mind from the pain. I have my primary doctor saying not to have the surgery on my lower back, but I have a neurosurgeon telling me to have it. The call my neck surgery a failed surgery..so what do I do now. I can't stand the pain, I have no life, I can walk to the livingroom, and my back will catch, I scream out, cry, something has to be done. But what?
Hi, I can't say I have what you've had but I live with chronic pain also. I broke both feet in a car accident and my left foot never healed so they fused my bones together with a screw. I was suppose to heal the longest he said would be a month in minor pain. Well it's been 6 months and I'm still am in chronic pain 24/7 so that we have together so I feel your pain. I hope you feel better. My prayers are with you.

I feel bad for you, since surgery especially on your spine can go bad or you may be lucky and it will work out. With fibromyalgia, I was told not to have any more surgery. Because of the constant pain, surgery will take much longer to heal and the pain will stay with you more than the normal. I wish you luck with whatever decision you make.
God bless you. Jeanne

I'm not sure this the answer, but maybe you should go for a second opinion from a neurosurgeon, and go from there. If you are so limited, it is probably worth taking a chance on more surgery. You can only gain, you've not much more to lose. I know it's a very hard decision, because I said I would not have anymore surgery after I tore my shoulder apart. With fibro, surgery is always worst and takes much more time to heal.
But also, if I were in your predictament at your age, I probably chance it. It's a hard decision to make. Jeanne

This is Jeanne again. I hadn't realized until reading another area that you had had a few opinions. I don't know where you live, but I'm sure all doctors have that attitude. The next best thing you could do, is to go for nerve shots, where they numb the nerve causing the pain. Maybe that would help you. It's hard to say.
