Hey guys, I just wanted to update you all on what happen today at the pain center. I think he is a really good Dr. He is the type that holds no punches, and told me how it is, and how it is gonna be. He said that because of all that's wrong with me and how bad I am now, that there is nothing that can be done for me, he said all he can do is try and make me as comfortable as he can with pain meds. He said that even with these strong meds, that I will not be able to do anything. I have lost almost all feeling from my ankles down, having a negative response to painful stimuli. So I guess there is nothing more to say or do, just sit here and wait til the good Lord desides it is my time and takes me home. Thanks for everyone that replied to my posts.

Thats not great news! But now that he's kind of reached the limits of drug world how about trying alternative means; meditation, guided relaxation,  biofeedback, massage, acupuncture?  For some people they don't work so well but for some people they're very helpful at kind of toning down the pain network that can get so hyped up over time.

You might want to check out a book called 'Full Catastrophe Living' by John Kabat Zinn; it came about when he started developing alternative methods for dealing with pain for patients like you for whom pain drugs just did not work. Its a great book.

Here are some online resources

Also keep your eyes and ears open for new drugs that may come along; pain is very big! Companies are devoting alot of resources and the research institutions are devoting alot of money to try and figure out pain is generated and how to turn it off.

First of all,my prayers are with you and your loved ones.I know it's easier said than done, but try to focus on something positive, and always have faith that there is bigger and better for us all.I also went the pain doc, wanted to give another injection, but I told him I have had enough poking for awhile. On the positive side did give some pain meds, and meds for the nerve problems. So I'll go back next month and see whats in store.Just glad to be comfortable for a change.I'll keep ya posted and you do the same.  Hang in there!

I'm not sure about what all that you are dealing with, but have you ever tried chiropractic care. It has helped me some. It dosen't help the pain, but it does help with the knotted up feeling. I'm so, so sorry that you have been going through so much, but the Lord has left you on the earth for some good reason. If you ever need a friend or to talk I'm on the site at least every few days. Please don't give up. I hope that I can be an encouragement to you. Hope to talk to you soon!

                                       Wishes of good health,

I'm so sorry to hear what your going through, for I too am going through alot of chronic pain.. I've started a contract with a pain management clinic and since i've started they gave me a medical pump, now the good and the bad about the pump is, it's another surgery and it takes up to a year to get some typle of relief ( they have to adjust to fit your needs) but since then i'm truley pleased with the out come of this (medical pump) maybe that is something you might check in.. how this helps you with anything...Frown
