Withdrawal symptoms can include: rapid breathing, excessive yawning, perspiration, runny nose, agitation, increased heart rate, fever, dilated pupils, gooseflesh, tremors, muscle twitching, hot and cold flashes, aching muscles, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea. Withdrawal symptoms can last for several days, usually peaking within 36 to 72 hours.
If you've been taking OxyContin for awhile, it's not a good idea to just stop cold turkey. Getting off of opioid medications should be done under a doctor's direction and care.
