Without experience prescribing Butrans for pain, I have to rely on the REMS information supplied by the company making Butrans. Butrans is only deemed to be effective for those taking no more than 60mg/day equivalant of Morphine. In fact, conversion to Butrans is not recommend unless someone is taking 60mg or less of Morphine (and equivalent).
100mcg/hr of Fentanyl is equivalent to 300mg/day of Morphine. You and your doctor might have to consider something other than Butrans for effective pain control. Unless your doctor has more experience and knows better than I.
