I have heard of problems with sweats and chills with Fentanyl and sweating is listed as one of Fentanyls side effects. I don't know how to stop it, however, other than going off the drug and replacing it with another one. Ironically a common withdrawal symptom is sweats but you can get around that by going off it gradually - if that's what you choose to do. Maybe someone else will have an idea how to stop those limits and chills. Good luck!

Hello T.

I am sorry to hear about  your discomfort, the fentanyl patch can cause sweats, but your description sounds pretty bad, i would talk to your doctor, you might need to adjust your dose or change your patch more often, Please check with your doctor, that could also be a sign of withdraw, as well as getting too much in your system,

I wear the patch as well, and on another medication that causes sweats, i take a blood pressure medication called "Atenolol" to stop the sweats, and it works wonderful, again you need to talk to your doctor asap. i would not fool around with this. Also i would recomend you stay away from caffiene, until you talk to your doctor.   good luck, i hope you find the answers you need SOON.

Hi I take Fentyal also and have been getting the sweats so bad lately. I know that you are suppose to stay away from hot tubs for hot baths due to meds getting released to quickly. Anyhoo it has been soooooooooooo hot outside here the last 2 weeks. 100+ and i have been spending alot of time outdoors while my daughter swims. I just sit in the shade. I noticed that I was getting the sweats so bad and was wondering if i was releasing to much meds due to sitting outside in the heat. On another note I also take Atnenenol for irregular heart beat. 50mg. 1x a day. I have not noticed it helping with the sweats. I am going to check into that though. I suffer from Arachnoiditis. If anyone else has this please talk to me..I am desparatly seeking someone to chat with that has this
