Hospital Codes

I just received an explantion of benefits from a recent hospital visit and it is just a bunch of codes - how do I know that I was billed for the correct procedures and diagnoses?

You can actually look this stuff up on line.  

here is a link you can use. 

 

http://www.fchp.org/Extranet/Providers/ProcedureCodeLookup/

 

if it is a hospital they use both CPT and HCPCS,  so check both. 

 

also contact the hospital and get an ITEMIZED bill to cross check.
