I understand how u r feeling 100%. I, along with hundreds of thousands, still have to endure soooooo very much in our effort to be painfree, or free enough to have a life. I have chronic back pain after a back injury many years ago, however, in took me searching through about 20 doctors until I found one that was able to find the correct diagnosis, not believe I was an addict, nor let me suffer in pain. I would LOVE to find some alternative ways to fight my pain, such as energy medicine, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, etc, and still believe strongly in these PROVEN alternatives, I would not only try some alternatives, but also move on to other doctors who are more empathetic to your pain. I have been on methadone for many years for pain mgmt., yet in the last few months it's effectiveness has seemed to wane. Apparently this can happen and historically, I tried many different pain meds. and many had little impact on my torturous pain. My doctor has now switched me to a Fentenyl TD patch, which seems to be effective, yet it is extremely expensive. Even antidepressants, antiinflamatories, etc. form a physical dependence with the body and if you choose, or need, to get off these meds. you must do it slowly and wean off. So, the excuse of becoming addicted seems absurd to me, as well as very un-empathetic to your on going pain. I don't know the amount of meds. you r taking, however I'm sure you have already developed some physical dependence. If you need additional medication, or perhaps the addition, or switch to another, I would discuss this and/or find another doctor. I know all too well the feelings of nonstop physical pain. I would not give up on yourself or your life because of 1 doctors opinion of your condition. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE!!!! I know it is difficult, especially while enduring the pain, but you will ultimatly find the right source. Again, don't rule out alternatives. Our minds are more powerful than we can ever imagine. Be strong and do what you need for yourself, even if it takes 10 more doctors!!!!!!!!! CJ
