Q: Are these unusual symptoms, symptoms of Fybromyalgia?

I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I've noticed problems with spasms in my thumbs, and bladder.   Ive also been getting terrible cysts (or it seems to be that) on my ovaries every other month. Are these odd symptoms also symptoms of fybromyalgia? I have the mucscle, headache, and fatigue as well, but just was wondering about these odd symptoms. Thanks, Beth Kirch N.Y.

I can't say for sure that the unusual symptoms you described are not related to fibromyalgia, but they are not typical.  I'd recommend that you discuss them with your doctor, as each of the symptoms could be indicative of other possible problems.

You're wise to ask about your new symptoms.  Because FM can have so many different symptoms and overlapping conditions, many of us tend to ignore new symptoms, assuming they are just part of our FM.  That can be a dangerous practice.  It's always best to ask your doctor about any new symptom.
