the first er ran blood urine and stool tests and found nothing they ruled I just had the flu  the second er ruled that i had acid reflux and told me to use over the counter drugs zontac 75 and tums that doesn,t even help at all. the pain somtimes is very unbarable and puts me into tears. For the first few days I had direaha and a little vomiting but that has since gone away. the pain starts about under the rib cage area and goes to around the right side of my stomach and can be felt into my back and shoulders sometimes. the pain is not constint all the time could only come and last for about a mintue or so but more servre pains can last last up to an hour or so.  On the way to the second er I was having a burning senstion in my chest and was clamey the wife said my hands were like ice cubes. they ran an ekg and a chest x-ray on my heart  and did blood tests to check for a possible heart attack but that was ruled out . I want some answers no one seems to know. If you need any other details let me know e-mail address tinapate@hotmail.com

thank you so very much

Unfortunately lots of things appear to be able to cause this. Why don't you try the Symptom Checker on Health Central? Its very impressive tool - they actually have a separate section on the appearance of severe abdominal pain. They'll have you answer specific questions on your symptoms and give you some ideas about what is and what isn't going on. They do say, though, that you should definitely see a doctor - this symptom can indicate something serious

Good luck!

The Symptom Checker is on the left side of the Health Central home page.

Do you still have your gallbladder? If so sounds like a gallbladder attack. My 2 cents
