Spinal Cord Stimulator
My Orthopedic has me going to a Pain & Spine Center to be considered for the Spinal Cord Stimulator. I would like to hear from People that have had this procedure done, and what is your experience. Has it helped you?
Hello,
I had my SCS installed back in August of 08 and yes, it has helped my nerve pain/Radiculopathy on my left leg, but the SCS does not help my mechanical pain, for that I still take my narcotic medications.
So if your pain is cause by Radiculopathy or nerve pain, then it should be able to help you. Mine is a Boston Scientific/Presicion model. Hope this helps.

You are very welcome! Mine was installed for the same leg, and it works fantastic! They will have to do a 4 to 5 day trial first, to see if you are a good candidate and to see if it works for you, since it doesn't work on everyone, but if it does work, you will love it!
I also have Fail Back Fusion Syndrome. My surgery was on 11/07. 3 Level/360 fusion from L2 through L5 and after that 3 Laminectomies, all within 2 years! I am over it, but what can I do???? Just live in intractable pain and wish for the best
. Good luck with the SCS and keep me posted, OK? Take care,

Thank you so much for your advice. I do have alot of nerve problems on my left leg, and now I am having problems with the Facet Joint and S1. I had my first Fusion in 1995, and that wasn't successful, so last yr. they fused the upper levels, but didn't want to touch my failed fusion thinking that it may make me worse off. I live in constant pain every day, and they are considering the SCS for the nerve pain. I have had the radiofrequency done of the Sciatica nerve three times and this has helped, so this is why they are considering the SCS, and they were hoping that it may help me a little with all of the pain a bit as well.
Again, thank you so very much for answering my question.
I wish you the best :)
