Q: is darvon still available

what is the danger of using darvon.

Yes, Darvon is currently still available.  In January 2009, an FDA panel voted 14-12 to pull Darvon and Darvocet off the market, but because of the close vote, it is being looked at more closely before a final decision is made.  The main reason they are considering removing them from the market is because they feel the benefits may not outweigh the risks.  The risks cited included reports of suicides, intentional drug overdoses, heart attacks and unintentional drug overdoses.  You can read more about this issue here:  FDA Panel Narrowly Recommends Darvon Be Pulled Off the Market
