Liz, before you have surgery, please read, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia,
by Paul St. Amand, M.D. It may just be a symptom of FMS. I'm not saying don't have the surgery.
I'm saying that you can learn more about your particular medical syndrome fom the book and it may help you to make a decision on what you should do.
The co-author of the book had your problem and was able to get rid of it all together without surgery.
Her name is Claudia Marek. You can find information about her on the internet. She has written at least 5 books, including children's books about FMS.
Hi there Liz,
I had laser surgery back in 2000. Although it's been almost 10 yrs, I vividly remember waking up in extraordinary pain. Unfortunately, the surgery didn't do the trick for me, but you never know what may work from person to person. When I was first diagnosed in '99, I was told it could go away on it's own. Ha, still waiting...
Are you about to have surgery...or considering it? How do you deal w/ your pain?

Hello Bonnie,
I read your response and was wondering why you mentioned Fibromyalgia. Do the 2 normally go hand-in-hand?
Thank you.
