Looking for anyone that has had a metatarsal amputation?

Getting ready to have a metatarsal amputation of mmy right foot due to extreme pain from Diabetic Neuropathy, I was wondering if any one here on the forum has had this procedure? I am getting a pain pump in nine days why do I have to stop taking all narcotics befor I get the pump?
