psoas muscle information

My husband had surgery for a herniated disc . the surgeon had a difficult time going thru the psoas muscle -the walking muscle and attemted several times. In doing so stretched the muscles and nerve endings. He now is walking with a walker and taking PT. Very slow recovery.
