In response to recent reports that painkiller use is surging in the
United States, physical therapists say patients with some chronic
conditions may want to consider physical therapy before they use
pain medications. Therapists say pain associated with such
conditions as arthritis, back pain, and chronic shoulder and knee
pain can be treated with a combination of therapies that could help
reduce patients' reliance on pain meds.
