Experts issue new back-pain guidelines

New guidelines from medical experts may change the way primary care doctors treat lower back pain. According to the new guidelines, doctors shouldn't routinely order MRIs, CT scans, or other diagnostic tests for patients with nonspecific low-back pain. Instead, doctors should place patients in one of three categories according to their symptoms so that patients can receive appropriate medication and diagnostic care. Read more »
