A study of 7,000 men and women suggests that low levels of vitamin
D may contribute to chronic pain in women. UK researchers found
that women with normal vitamin D levels had the lowest rates of
chronic pain, while women with low vitamin D levels had the highest
chronic pain rates. No link between chronic pain and the vitamin
was seen in men, which suggests that female hormones may be a
factor in the connection between vitamin D and pain.
