New device could ease chronic back, leg pain

Spinal-fusion surgery is often considered a last resort for people who suffer from back or leg pain because the surgery often leads to a loss of movement. But a new surgical implant known as a TFAS device may allow doctors to stabilize patients' spines without sacrificing function.
