New drug may relieve MS-related nerve pain

A new study has found that the experimental drug Sativex may offer long-term relief from neuropathic pain for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers followed the progress of 42 MS patients with central neuropathic pain who had taken Sativex for 12 weeks. These patients were then given either the drug or a placebo for another four weeks.
