Antidepressants don't ease back pain

A new analysis by a non-profit group that evaluates medical research has found that antidepressants don't help relieve back pain. Nearly one in four primary care doctors prescribes antidepressant meds to ease chronic lower back pain. But a review of 10 studies showed that back-pain patients who received antidepressants didn't experience any greater pain relief than patients who were given a placebo.
