This is a study to compare the safety and effectiveness of two dose levels of bicifadine with a placebo in patients with chronic lower back pain. The study is also investigating responses to the two doses, the effects of the drug on function and general quality of life, and the effects of discontinuing bicifadine treatment. This national study is currently recruiting patients.
