FDA approves Uloric for gout

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the medication Uloric for the treatment of gout. Gout is a painful condition characterized by elevated levels of uric acid that can build up in the blood, joints, and soft tissue. According to a news release from Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Uloric is the first new treatment option in more than four decades for this chronic condition.
