Aspirin resistance boosts heart risks

Heart patients whose bodies are resistant to aspirin have a higher risk of having a heart attack or stroke, Canadian researchers say. People who are aspirin-resistant have platelets that don't respond to the anti-clotting effects of aspirin in the same way as patients don't have the resistance. Anti-clotting medications such as Clopidogrel and Tirofiban also have little effect on these patients.
