Drugmaker Teva has announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved its generic form of the pain patch Duragesic for sale in the United States. According to a Teva press release, the generic--called the Fentanyl Transdermal System--will be available in 25 mcg/hour, 50 mcg/hour, 75 mcg/hour, and 100 mcg/hour dosages. Teva said they will begin shipping the generic pain patch immediately.
