Spinal disc degeneration common in elderly

New research suggests that most elderly adults show signs of degenerative disc disease, even if they don't experience back pain. Researchers studied 163 patients who complained of back pain, and 158 elderly patients who reported no back pain. They found that around 90 percent of both groups had signs of degenerative disc, but those who reported severe low back pain were more likely to have severe degeneration.  Read full story >
