'Painful' physical therapy more effective for chronic pain: study

A new study published in the journal Clinical Rehabilitation has found that an aggressive form of physiotherapy appears to be more effective at treating chronic pain than a more conservative, pain-free approach. Scientists in the Netherlands found nearly half of patients who were given the painful treatment recovered normal physical function, whereas those who underwent the less painful procedure experienced further loss of physical function.
