Spinal 'pacemaker' may ease chronic pain

Doctors say a new implanted spinal cord stimulator, a device similar to an implanted pacemaker, may provide relief for people who suffer from chronic pain. The device produces a tingling feeling to help reduce chronic pain without the use of medication, researchers say. The implant is rechargeable, and it also has a remote to allow patients to change the level of stimulation as needed.  Read full story >
