Colds and flu are both respiratory illnesses caused by different viruses, and can have similar symptoms. However, flu symptoms are usually more severe and include fever, body aches, extreme tiredness and a dry cough. Cold symptoms are generally milder, such as a runny or stuffy nose. Colds do not usually cause serious health problems, such as pneumonia or bacterial infections.
