Maybe.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Flu Map, there was flu activity in some states as early (or as late) as May.

In general, peak flu season happens in late November through March.

The common cold virus may already be circulating. Typically, the common cold starts getting passed on to and by children when they return to school after Labor Day. It's no coincidence that adults tend get worse asthma the following week -- the kids bring the cold home to mom and dad! Dr. Fred Little, an expert on our Asthma site, wrote all about the "September Epidemic."
