Q: Why amantadine should not be included in the formulation of cold remedies?

I was recently traveling abroad. I saw some over the counter cold remedies containing Amantadine. I understand the liberal use of amantadine in cold remedies could increase resistance to influenza virus. I also read mixing amantadine to antihistamicis may increase side effects. Is this correct?
