Q: My lungs and heart are OK, but for years I have felt there was a blockage in trachea area. I have asthma or chronic bronchitis symptoms to which inhalers have an adverse effect. What can I do?
I was given Theophylline - 200 mg - for YEARS - 1-2 daily. All symptoms grew worse - severe, debilitating coughing with weakness of legs (seemed like a toxic reaction). I stopped taking it and most symptoms improved - only 1-2 coughing spells a day - less weakness, but after 2 months, symptoms are back and I am constantly tired and fall asleep easily. Med check up shows lungs and heart are clear and healthy.
