Look at cute animals, work better

We learned that looking at pictures of cute animals at work might improve job performance.
In a study from researchers at Hiroshima University, 48 participants played the board game Operation, then were shown photos of gourmet food, people, baby animals or adult animals. After viewing the pictures, all the participants were asked to play the game again.
The people who viewed the pictures of baby animals went on to play the game 44 percent better and accurately, compared to their previous game, and the people who viewed the adult animals played 5 percent better.
In another experiment, researchers asked 48 new participants to view clusters of number and determine how many times a specific digit appeared. Again, the participants who viewed baby animals were more accurate.
Apparently, some work distractions are more productive than others.
