One reader of The People's Pharmacy says that a doctor prescribed antiviral medication called avantadine has helped heal her warts. Rather than taking the pill internally, the patient applies the capsule's gel to the blemish. According to Joe and Teresa Graedon, there is some evidence that suggests topical antiviral flu medications may treat some types of warts.
