Study: Codeine does not relieve coughing in patients with COPD

Researchers at Manchester University have found "no statistical difference" between codeine and a placebo in treating cough associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Codeine does suppress coughing in patients with the chronic lung disease, the researchers found, but it did little to treat what actually causes the cough. Read more »
