No answers on flu deaths in the young: experts

The United States has had a mild flu season, experts say, with the season's peak expect in March or April. But while some people only suffer the inconvenience of aches and stuffy noses from the virus, for others it can be deadly. Most deaths occur in the elderly, but doctors are also seeing flu fatalities in young people with no known medical conditions. Experts say that while there are no definitive answers about what causes these deaths, some speculate that these young people, for genetic reasons, have unusual immune response to the flu, resulting in deaths.  Read full story >
